At the end of the 17th century, Camilla Parenzi, niece of Girolamo and A. Maria Van Diemen, married Raffaele Mansi and brought with her, as her dowry, the Villa now owned by Gerardo Mansi.
Giacomo Puccini stayed here in the summer of 1898 and was inspired to write the first act of Tosca, performed a hundred years later in the garden of the Villa which still has its old charm.
Later, the German poet Rudolf Borchardt was a guest in the Villa (1914 and 1921 ) where he began his translation of the Divine Comedy into Old German.
Now we find ourselves at the beginning of the third millenium but the peacefulness of the place is still unbroken, still kept alive with love and passion by the latest descendants of the Mansi family, for the delight of the many foreigners who love spending their holidays here.
